Lion On Railway Platform
A full-grown lion went for a stroll along the railway platform at Monaghan, Eire, and within seconds he had the platform to himself. He was part of a travelling circus from Belfast. Somebody had undone the latch on his cage door. Wearying- of the platform, he spotted a field acros the road and made for the station exit. Customs man Con Keogh hit him on the head with his cap ae he went through, but the lion just yawned and strolled across and into the field. Armed police came rushing up, to push their guns through the hedge. The lion just stretched, and rolled on the grass like a dog released in a park. Then he saw his cage, which had been pulled across a gap in the hedge. And he strolled back in.
