An illustration of just how' acute the staff shortage is occurred at the Whakatane Post Office yesterday when a customer, pointed out to the counter clerk that the date and’ the day of the box calendar was a day behind.. The clerk replied that the staff was much too busy to be able to attend to such things, and the customers would have to remember the date for themselves.
