Miss,B. Butler, of the Whakatane branch of the Farmers’ Trading Co’., left for Gisborne on Monday . on her annual holidays. Mr . C. Kingsley-Smith returned to Whakatane on Wednesday after a short business trip to Auckland. He left on Friday. Dr A. Ellis, Senior Lecturer to the Otago University, has been staying in Whakatane for the past few days as the guest of Mr and Mrs L. S. Brown. He left on Wednesday en route to Singapore to take hp the Chair of Anatomy.
