*Miss Carol Ernest left yesterday for a week’s holiday in Auckland. Mr W. Alexander, of Whakatane, returned from a short trip to Wellington yesterday. Miss M. Grace, of the Whakatane Post Office, has resigned her post on the telephone exchange to enter a Convent. * Miss M. Farrell left Whakatane on Sunday on an extended tour of the Waikato and Auckland districts. She is expected- to return early in August. Mr M. McGill, of the Whakatane Post Office staff, has been transferred to Ruatoria. He concluded his duties last night and leaves on his annual holidays today after which he will take up his new position.
