Poroporo Hold United To One-Point Lead
United seniors defeated Poroporo. at the domain on Saturday in a weak match with Poroporo unlucky not to win at some stages of the gamq, The final score was 9—B. Neither side appeared to want the offensive in the first part of the game until Kotua went on for a try almost unopposed. A little interest was started and the United forwards, led by Rolfe, went to work. The United backs were well marked and could not do much with their opportunities. Kotua for the Poroporo backs played well. Poroporo went to work in the second half and were unlucky not to score on more occasions than they did. The final score was 9—B. Scorers:— United (9 points): Ruffles a try, Gardiner and Hunt a penalty. Poroporo (8 points): Kotua and Kingi a try, Huta a conversion.
