War Talk In U.S.
New Zealanders live ten years longer than Americans, in the opinion of Mr J. McClelland, who returned by air from his former home city, Los Angeles, accompanied by his Australian wife. They have made their home at Picton. “In the United States, people are just wearing themselves out chasing- each other round,” Mr McClelland said. “Almost everybody is talking about war with—with only one place. I know two factories were instructed to cancel orders and begin secret work on war production.”
