David Sorensen, a pupil of the Whakatane District High School, who lives at Ohope, was lucky to escape serious injury on Friday when a home-brewed throw-down lire-cracker threw a small bolt at his face, catching him just under the eyeball. After medical treatment he was able to go home. The accident should serve as a warning to other boys with the fireworks craze.
