Wool Scholarships
The vote by the executive of the International Wool Secretariat of additional sums of money totalling more than £20,000 for scientific research work and the creation of fellowships for the study of wool •brought the total money voted for research in recent years to approximately £150,000. Wool scholarships are to be offered to students in Holland, France, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Mareo Re-Married Eric Mareo, who was released from the Auckland Prison in May after serving 12 years for the murder of his wife, was married in St. George’s Church, Wellington, on June 7. Described as an author, aged 56, whose parents were given as Raymond Pecktesch and Mary Curtis, he was married under the name of Eric Curtis. The bride was Gladys Ethel Andreae, described in the marriage licence as a spinster, ' aged 57, of Auckland. This is Mareo’s third marriage.
