Changes In International Wool Secretariat: New Countries To Join Body
Far-reaching changes in the activities of the International Wool Secretariat are announced by the New Zealand Wool Board, following the biennial meeting of the Secretariat Executive in London early this month. The changes include the resignations of the Australian and South African members of the three-man Secretariat, making Mr R. G. Lund, New Zealand’s representative, its senior member. The Secretariat is to invite Argentina, Uruguay and other wool-pro-ducing countries in South America to' co-operate with it irl wool promption work in those countries. This decision is of significance to New Zealand because New Zealand and the South American wool growing countries are the world’s principal sources of supply of crossbred wools. Any rise in the consumption of crossbred wool in South America should indirectly benefit New Zealand.
