Power Cuts May Be Re-Imposed

USE OF RADIATORS IS STILL ILLEGAL There is real and immediate danger that power cuts might have to be re-imposed on the Whakatane Borough, Mr F. W. Lysaght, Borough electrical engineer, told the Beacon yesterday. The allocation is being considerably exceeded, and consumption has risen to the point where it will have to be firmly checked. Mr Lysaght again reminded that the use of radiators is still prohibited, and warned that drastic action yvould have to be taken against any found defying that edict. That there are people using radiators is certain. Borough inspectors have found some already, and Mr Lysaght said such people must be :made to realise that, by seizing a little extra comfort for themselves they were likely to penalise the whole town. -
