Wool Board Scheme For Training Of Shearers
In the coming shearing season the New Zealand Wool Board’s scheme for the training of shearers will be continued on the same basis as last year. A decision to this effect was made by the Board at its recent meeting in Wellington. The scheme 'provides for the training of shearers, either in the sheds or at technical colleges, or in both, and is subsidised by the Board to the extent of £3 per man-week for a period of up to three weeks. Under the scheme 104 shearers were trained last season, and it is 'hoped to better this total in the season ahead.
