N.Z. Meat Producers Fat Lamb Competition: United Kingdom Results

The results of the 1947/48 season District Fat Lamb Competition at Smithfield, London, England, has been received by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board from the Board’s British representative in London.

A feature of this year’s results is the close relationship of the U.K. awards with those given by the New Zealand graders on the hooks competition in New Zealand. Of the nine pens' listed above three were placed first in the local judging, four placed second, one placed third and,one placed fifth. The awards are as follows: District Lamb Competition, North Island:

First and Shield, Southern Hawkes Bay. Second, North Auckland.

Third, Wairoa. Best Individual Pens, North Island: First, North Auckland, Pen No, 102 C. F. Jones. Second, Wairoa, Pen No. 4 H. S. Findsen.

Third, North Auckland, Pen No. 22 E. A. Cook.

Fourth, Southern Hawkes Bay, Pen No. 58 J. F. Syme. Highly Commended, Wairoa, Pen No. 53 Humphrey Bayly.
