EDGECUMBE WOMEN’S INSTITUTE PRESENTS SERVICE BADGES
Wet weather did not spoil the Maymeeting of the Edgecumbe Women’s Institute held recently. Highlight of the programme was the presentation of two long service badges to Mrs Le Lievre and Mrs Crang. Pretty shoulder sprays were given to each by Mrs Ferguson, who briefly outlined the work done by them. Bank books were presented to two new babies, also a wedding gift from Institute friends was presented to Miss O. Teasdale. A wall competition was won by Mrs Burgess. Competition results were:— Best flower: Mrs Black and Mrs Woollett 1, Mrs Magee 2, Mrs Martin and Mrs H. Carter 3. Vegetable: Mrs Ewen 1, Mrs Sim 2, Mrs Woollett 3. Humorous hat: Mrs Magee 1, Mrs Malpas 2, Mrs Bell 3. Three scones: Mrs Martin 1, Mrs Magee 2, Mrs Woollett 3. Hot water-bag cover: Mrs Malpas 1, Mrs Barnes 2, Mrs Magee 3.
