Farm School Syllabus

The following lectures have been arranged for the proposed “farm school” to be conducted in this district from June 7 to June 11:

First day: “Pasture establishment,” Mr A. V. Alio; “Winter Feeding of the Dairy Herd,” Mr Woodyear-Smith; “Topdressing” Mr E. R. Marryatt; film show in the evening.

Second day: “Stock Diseases,” Government veterinary officer; “Pasture Management and Rotational Grazing,” Mr A. V. Alio; “Supplementary Crops” Mr Woodyear Smith; “Farm Shelter,” Mr E. R. Marryatt. Other matters to be dpalt with at a later school may be the establishing of a farm orchard and garden, poultry production including breeding and rearing, wool (including “get up” for sale and classing), and farm accountancy.,

A school along, these lines was started at Tauranga yesterday and is being concluded today. The O.potiki sessions are scheduled for June 7 an 8, Edgecumbe for June 9 and 10 and Waimana June 10 and 11.
