Telegraph Restrictions
Advice has been received by the Whakatane Post and Telegraph Office that restrictions have been placed on telegrams sent to Syria, Egypt or.lraq by those governments. They are to take effect immediately. The restrictions are:—
(1) Abbreviated addresses either in address or signature not admitted; (2) code or cipher may not Jje used; (3) surname and Christian, name of sender must be telegraphed; (4) the only plain languages admitted are Arabic, English or French (in addition Turkish or Iranian languages may be used in telegrams for Iraq); (5) foregoing restrictons not applicable to government telegrams; (6) in addition Egypt does not admit telegrams addressed to a post office or a telegraph office nor any telegram requesting notification of delivery (PC or PCP) or any telegram' which , the sender desires be reforwarded to another address (F. S.)
