Te Teko W.D.F.F. Branch Decides To Hold Adult Education School This Year

The May meeting of the Te Teko branch of the W.D.F.F. was held in the Sports Pavilion at the Domain on Tuesday, May 11. There was a fair attendance and Mrs < Thomas opened the meeting with the reading of the Creed. The secretary, Mrs Cannell, read a letter from Miss Smith, lecturer of the Adult Education group, stating that lecturers were prepared to come to the district and hold a three-day’s school later in the year if sufficient people were interested to make the effort worth while. Several members being in favour of the idea it was decided to contact Mrs E. Haultain, of Awakeri, with the suggestioi} that a series of lectures be held in a central district. It was also decided to accept the offer made by the Cattle Dog Trial Club for the branch to cater for the annual meeting to be held in the Domain on May 29’. All future meetings of the branch are to be held in the Domain, i The roll call, Hints on bulb growing, should be useful to gardeners. Birthday bouquets were presented by Mrs Hutton to Mesdames Newman, Caldwell, Hunt and Foote. Mrs Newman won the “Mystery Parcel” donated by Mrs Eivers. The winners of the best •bloom competition were: Mrs Butler 1, Mrs Hallett 2.
