Young Farmers’ Debate

On Wednesday night a debate between the Waimana and Opotiki Young Farmers’ Clubs was held in the Waimana Hall, the subject being “That a College education is_ of more value than a practical farming one.” The results were Waimana Y.F.C. 329 points, Opotiki 318, a win for Waimana by 11 points. The team for Waimana was J. Marra leader, J. White, F. Mitchell, - and for Opotiki I. Grant leader, A. Roe and G. McMillan.

The adjudicator was Mr Calvert of Opotiki, who commented on the speakers and in particular congratulated the Waimana leader Mr J. Marra, who scored top points, on his excellent debating.
