Mr M. Nichols, of the Self Help, Whakatane, left for Waihi on Saturday. Mr R. Morpeth, Jnr. of Whakatane, returned to Auckland on Monday. Mr J. J. Stringer and Mr G. Pulas return to Whakatane today after a tour of the Bay of Plenty and Waikato districts.
Mr and Mrs M. Smart, of Te Awamutu, spent last week-end in Whakatane in the course of a honeymoon trip through New Zealand.
Mr S. J. Parker, retiring secretary of the Bay of Plenty Province of Federated Farmers of N.Z. (Inc.), was warmly thanked for the able work he had done for the province when his resignation was accepted by the Provincial conference at Opotiki last Friday.
Mrs F. R. Ma'rr and her sister, Mrs T. H. Sinclair, of Newcastle, New South Wales, are spending a fortnight with their brother-in-law, Mr B. W. Marr and family, of Matata, before leaving for Australia, after six weeks spent touring the South and North Islands.
