Power Restrictions Off

All power restrictions on electric light have been lifted in the Whakatane area for an indefinite period, says a report from the Borough Electricity Department. Only . restriction still in force is the ban on the use of electric radiators. The cuts have been removed owing to the heavy rain that has fallen in the past few weeks and the subsequent raising of the lake levels. A warning has been issued by the Controller that the reinstating of the cuts depends entirely on the consumption by the public and if this does increase to an extravagant amount then the cuts will have to be reimposed.
