Child In Y/bakatane Hospital: No More Yet The child admitted to the District Hospital, Whakatane, on Monday as a suspected case of poliomyelitis is now classified as a positive case..

It was reported to Wednesday night’s meeting of the Whakatahe School Committee that there were two positive cases in this district, but that was not confirmed by inquiries from the Health Inspector, Mr A. R. Knights, and the medical superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. E. T. Dawson, yesterday and this morning.

There was some discussion as to whether the school should

close, but, after the Health Inspector had been consulted 1 , the committee was informed that would not be necessary at this stage.
