Accents On Intriguing Colour Combinations In Paris Spring Shows
Accent is on intpgueing colour combinations at Paris spring shows and leading designers present, as well a wealth of delicate pastels giving lightweight woollens notably jerseys, pride of place among fabrics. Coffee-brown with black, green with putty, or off-white and grey with touches of yellow are among the newest combinations, while duck-egg green and blotting-paper pink are new shades, standing on their own. Lilac-mauves arid pale greys which look their best in the soft velvour textures, are widely used, and, occasionally a touch of red strikes vivid contrast.
Some of the loveliest pastel shades are found in jerseys, which range from the smooth stockinette weaves to the heaviest types, mainly for coat frocks and varying from those with lightly rippled surfaces to others duplicating all kinds of tweeds. Finer jerseys are used for many dresses with full skirts, some finely pin-tucked to mould the hips and others gathered into fitted bodices-
