Whakatane Red Cross

There was a very poor attendance at the monthly meeting of the Whakatane Red Cross in the Red Cross Rooms last week. Mr J. H. Duthie was appointed treasurer with the power to sign cheques in conjunction with the president, Mrs B. S. Barry, and a letter of thanks is to be sent to the retiring treasurer, Mr N. Patterson, thanking him for his assistance during the year. Final arrangements were made for the stall and street appeal to be held on May 21. It was decided to put the money raised to the “Food for Britain” and general purposes fund.
