Evangelist Says Stalin Can’t Rebuild Roman Empire—lf He Wants To
Some forty people gathered in the Captain’s Cabin Ohope last Saturday night to hear evangelist Geoff Ratcliffe speak on the subject: “Will Russia Crush Europe?” Mr Ratcliffe based his remarks on a prophecy found in second chapter of the book of Daniel.
“I want to make it crystal clear,” he said, “that I am not here to give you my opinions, or the opinions of ether men, but rather what the God of Heaven says about this question.” Mr Ratcliffe, with the aid of several charts, showed that the prophecy revealed that the Roman Empire would be divided exactly into ten fragments, and further, that those ten divisions would never be re-united into one empire again. Many efforts had been made over the past fourteen centuries to do this, but the seven words of prophecy—“they shall not cleave one to another” had proved too great for would-be conqueors. Marshal Stalin, on the same basis, would fail in endeavouring to conqueror and control Europe if such a plan was being considered. Inasmuch as the prophecy had unerringly revealed the history of the world over the past 2500 years the final act in the drama, the establishing of the everlasting Kingdom of Christ was a certainty.
