Teacher Farewelled

The residents of Ohope gathered .at the Captain’s Cabin on Thursday night to farewell Miss N. Chambers, a teacher at the Ohope Side School, who is giving up teaching to get married. Card games were provided for the older people and dancing for the younger. Music was supplied by Mahy’s orchestra. After the delicious home-made supper, Mr F. Cutler on behalf of the Ohope residents thanked Miss Chambers for the good work she had done at the school. Mr I. Hubbard also spoke on the high standard of work done by Miss Chambers. Master Kenny Brebner then presented the guest of honour with a wall mirror. After Miss Chambers’s reply, the party continued until midnight.
