A.C.W.W. Representative’s Report To Whakatane W.I.

The monthly meeting of the Whakatane Women’s Institute was held on May 4 in the Methodist Hall. The president, Mrs Print, welcomed visitors, new members and Mrs K. Stewart who was the representative at A.C.W.W. The monthly letter from the Federation president was read, also one thanking those members who ably assisted with, the teas at both Eisteddfod and Council meeting. Corso sewing convener exhibited a fine display of garments done .by the circle. Members unable to help with sewing assisted financially. Many seeds of kindness were received by the convener Mrs Fennell. Shoulder sprays and good wishes were given to members whose birthday is in May. Report of the Council meeting and points gained at the Eisteddfod were heard. The Glee group sang the sacred piece that was rendered at the Eisteddfod. A most interesting talk was given by Mrs K. Stewart of her experiences in Holland whilst at the A.C.W.W. conference. Competitions:— Machine-made apron: Mrs Comer 1, Mrs Hanham 2. Bowl of berries and autumn leaves: Mrs Guest 1, Mrs Fennell 2. Three onions: Mrs Guest 1, Mrs Carling 2.
