New Te Teko Boxing Club Has Good Start
The new boxing club formed at Te Teko a. month ago and known, as the Rangitaiki Boxing Club has had a most successful start and at the last training night 34 very keen pupils turned out. Public support is behind the new club and the instructor, Mr W. Palmer, says that there have been *more donations to' the club in the form of cash and gear than was ever expected at the start. Already the club has trophies for the best boxer, the most improved and ihe most sciehific boxer, all donated by supporters. The training hall is the Te Teko Pa hall which has been fitted out as a gymnasium. All trainees are progressing well and should -be fit for bouts in the near future. Mr Palmer said that when he thought the boys were sufficiently fit he was arranging a club night to give the new boxers a try-out before the big tournament at Whakatane this month. -
