Polio Victim Dies: Precautions At Edgecumbe
The poliomylitis victim from the Edgecumbe district has died at the Waikato Hospital. Precautions against the attendance of children under 16 at any public gatherings have been re-instituted in the Edgecumbe district, and the Health Inspector, Mr A. R. Knights, is seeking the full co-operation of the public in taking all reasonable measures to present possible spread of the disease. No more cases or suspected cases have been reported in this area.
Dr T. C. Lonie, district Medical Officer of Health, was here yesterday.
