Dairy Produce Contracts: Task For Commission
The fact that the Dairy Products Marketing Commission would shortly be entering into negotiations in Great Britain, was mentioned by the chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board, Mr W. E. Hale, when he addressed the Bay of Plenty Ward Conference on Wednesday. Mr Hale made it clear that in the. negotiations all factors, including the. prices paid to other countries, could be included. The extension of the actual term of the contract will also be discussed. “The next task for the Commission will be negotiating of new Heads of Agreement to the existing butter and cheese contracts, and negotiation of the future price' for butter and cheese sold overseas,” said Mr Hale. “Having taken part in the last two negotiations, I am fully aware of the difficulties facing the Commission, in the task of arriving at contract terms which will be fair both to the United Kingdom and to this country.”
