Gaol For False Pretence
Having obtained 11b biscuits, a packet of cheese and a packet of tobacco, to a total value of 5/3 from an Ohope store by falsely representing that he was acting on behalf of Mr J. Gillespie,- Ralph Francis Thompson pleaded guilty to a false pretences charge before Messrs C. H, Christensen and I. B. Hubbard J’s P. in the Police Court at Whakatane on Friday and was sentenced to 7 days in the local gaol. On a charge of being idle and disorderly, with insufficient means of support, he was convicted and discharged.
