New Variation To The Off-The-Shoulder Gown

The “off-the-shoulder gown is one of the most popular evening dress styles, and an excellent variation of it is worn by lovely Glynis Johns in her latest film, Ealing’s “Frieda.” The new features of the, gown are the three-quarter sleeves, and the unusual cut of the hipline with Vshaped drooping over each hip» instead of the traditional back and front V-panelling. Executed in satin, the bare shoulderline of the dress is emphasised by a double band of the material. The bodice is nipped in' at the waist with a sash,' and the sleeves are full to the elbow where they are gathered into a tight band.
