Te Teko Red Cross Branch Has Successful Financial Year: Large Donations

The annual meeting of the Te Teko branch of the New Zealand Red Cross held last week reported a highly successful year, the branch contributing to nearly all the funds active at present. The branch held the first annual Red Cross flower show in the Bay and combined with the Paddy’s Market made £6l Bs. The group also did the catering for the Hunt Club’s field days in the Te Teko area and out of this made £23 19s and the Pie Stall at the stock sales realised £57. '

Out of these-funds a donation of £25 was made to the Food For Britain campaign, £25 to the Chinese' relief, £25 to be used for clothing drive to be sent to Britain, and £l7 to the Whakatane headquarters. The branch is very grateful to all the outside branches that co-operat-ed to make the year such a success. The following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Mrs L. B. Smith; vice-president, Mrs J. Jamieson; secretary, Mrs L. B. Thomas; . and the committee are Mesdames T. Harty, C. B. Balfour, J. W f J. Caldwell, Trumper, R. J. Hendl, ,L. AnderSon, H. K. Pryor, J. Charlie.
