Y.F.C. Leadership Course Offers Valuable Hints To Club Officials
An unrivalled opportunity for all who hold office or who may be called upon to hold office as secretary, treasurer or chairman, and for the private member of any club, society or other organisation is offered to the public in the Y.F.C. “leadership evening,” advertised in this issue. Ten-minute lecturettes followed by ten-minute discussions will be given by a Wll-qualified panel of speakers. The question of formality at meetings will be discussed by Mr E. R. Marryatt; hints will be given to chairmen by Mr lan Gow; Mr A. V. Alio, Tauranga, will tell how to be an efficient club secretary; instruction for club treasurers will be obtained from Mr N. H. E. Hockin, A.P.A.N.Z.; Mr Gordon Spratt, Te Puke, will explain that even the private member of an organisation has certain duties; Mr D. C. Stevens, Editor of the Beacon, will throw some light on preparing material for publication; and Mr C. R. Wilson, Edgecumbe, will discourse on leadership. The District Chairman, Eastern Bay of Plenty Y.F. Clubs, Mr J. M. Barr, has expressed the hope that as many other organisations as possible will make use of this course arranged primarily for Young Farmers’ Clubs and take advantage of instruction usually so difficult to obtain except by hard experience. If general advantage is taken of this offer by the Y.F. Clubs the district’s organisations should undoubtedly benefit.
