Good Progress Reported To Annual Meeting Of Te Teko Golf Club
The president, Mr L. B. Smith, was, in the chair at the third annual meeting of the Te Teko Golf Club. In presenting his annual report, Mr Smith said he considered that the club had consolidated its position, very considerably during the three years it had been in existence. During this last year the club had come to an arrangement with the Domain. Board which agreed to finance the building of a sports club house on the Domain, golf club members providing practically all of the voluntary labour. A permanent greenkeeper had been engaged, and a motor mower purchased, with the result that a marked improvement had been noticed in the state of the greens. The thanks of the club were due to the Mokoroa Golf Club for the very generous gift of five silver challenge cups. The balance sheet showed the club finances to be in a sound position. Mr Smith concluded by thanking his committee, for their support and co-operation during his term of office. He also thanked all women members for providing teas throughout the season.
The meeting accepted Mr Smith’s resignation as club president with great regret, various members speaking of the excellent work done by him since the inception of the club. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr W. Glenn; president, Mr T. Macken; vice-president, Mr L. B. Smith; captain, Mr K. Knight; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Nation; committee, Messrs. J. Caldwell, Pi Goodwin and J. Moulden.
A vote of thanks was passed to the hon. auditor, Mr Blair, who was appointed for another year.
