Rowing Challenges Decided Last Week

Last Tuesday, after work, a race for the Miss Armstrong Challenge Cup was held. This proved one of the best races witnessed this season. After a mile of first one crew in the lead then the other the challengers, G. Henry, M. Nicol, W. Stuart; T. Reid (T. Reid cox) crossed the finishing line three feet ahead of the holders, L. Stewart,. G. Moore, R. King, P. Bowering (T. Windley cox). On Thursday a further challenge race was witnessed, this time,—for the W. Stuart Challenge Cup. The holders, K. O’Rourke, G. Dines, L. Stewart, P. Bowering (A. Delahunty cox) took the honours from the challengers, G. Henry, M. Nicol, H. Armstrong, B. Fitzgerald (R. Reid cox) by a margin of six feet after a really good race.
