Badminton Club Prepares For New Season

Following ar& the officers elected at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Badminton Club on Tuesday night: Patron, Mr C. S. Armstrong; president, Mr R. Hansen; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. W. Tyssen, Harry Morgan, Hamilton Morgan; hon. secretary, Mr B. Mole; club captain and selector, Mr E. Wilson; committee, Mrs J. Thompson, Miss D. Richardson, Messrs. W. G. Howat Jnr., A. Head. Mr Howat Jnr. presented a very pleasing report on last season’s activities, when there were matches played against Taneatua, Awakeri, Thornton, Ohope and Tauranga. It is hoped to include Opotiki this year. A favourable balance sheet was presented by the secretary. It was decided to commence the season on April 28 in the Caledonian Hall, King Street. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring president, Mr Howat Jnr., and the retiring secretary, Miss J. Moore.
