Whakatane Rowing Club Holds Successful Dance

A large crowd assured the success of the Whakatane Rowing Club's dance in the King Street -Hall on Monday night. Though the evening was a little too warm, the dancers all seemed to have a lot of fun dancing to the music of the Ruatoki Rhythm Boys, and a new addition to the bands in the district. Owing to the power cuts, the home-made supper was served early. Two Monte Carlos were run during the evening and*were won by Mr B. Mexted and partner and Mr R. Morpeth and partner. The highlight of the evening was the final of the watch competition which was won by Miss M. Doran of Taneatua.
