Notice is given that the Whakatane Domain Board intends to apply for special legislation enabling it to lease that portion of the Whakatane Domain, edged green on the deposited plan, to the Whakatane and Rangitaiki Agricultural and Pastoral Society and the Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association on the following terms and conditions namely:— 1. RENTAL—-£75 p.a. for first 10 years and balance of period at a rental mutually agreed upon or fixed by arbitration but not less than £75 p.a. 2. TERM—That the lease be for a term of 21 years. 3. That clause (9) of the existing lease be amended giving the right to the public, sports and other organisations to use the grounds on other than show days.
4. That the present Winter Show building be removed to and erected on a site on the Domain (marked red on the deposited plan) at the cost of the A. & P. Society and Winter Show Association. A plan of the proposed area to be leased and the situation of the proposed site for the removal to and re-erection of the Winter Show building have been deposited by the said Board for public inspection at the office of the Town Clerk situate in the Borough Council Chambers, Commerce Street, Whakatane, and may be inspected during office hours, 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on all days on which such office is open. Persons objecting to the proposed lease must state their objection in writing and serve the same on the Board by delivery thereof to. the Secretary at the public offices of the Board situate in the Borough Council Chambers, Commerce Street, Whakatane, on or before noon the 12th day of April, 1948.
