More Footballers At Edgecumbe This Year

The Edgecumbe Football Club held its annual meeting last Friday night, Mr C. F. Thompson presiding. The president’s report stated that, owing to the lack of players last season, the club did not field a senior or a junior team, but that this year the number of prospective players was considerably higher, which looked well for the coming season. The appointment of selectors was deferred until it was definitely decided what teams could be entered in the union competitions. Subscriptions for the coming year yere fixed at £1 for seniors and 7/for juniors. A social committee was formed for the purpose of organising club dances and any other club activities. So that the members will be able to obtain a full insight into the rules of the game an evening has been set aside for a talk by a Union referee on the rules of Rugby. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr T. Anderson; president, Mr C. F. Thompson; secretary, Mr J. E. Hawken; management committee, Messrs T. Anderson, Stevenson, R. Ferguson, chairman and secretary; delegates to the Rugby Union, Messrs T. Thompson and T. Anderson.
