Presentation To Retiring Secretary At Taneatua Labour Party Meeting

The Taneatua branch of the Labour Party held its annual general meeting on Tuesday night in the Taneatua hall. With general business completed the meeting went on to discuss its policy in the coming year. Mr G. Santon and Mr L. Newdick reported that they had been attending the Labour Representation Council meetings each month. The meeting decided not to send a delegate to the Labour Conference in Wellington this year, but to arrange for a member of the Labour

Representation Council, to represent the branch there. . The retiring secretary,. Miss L. Newdick, who is to be married soon, was presented with a crystal water set in recognition of her services, and the meeting wished her every success in the future. The following officers were elected: Mr G. Santon, president; Mr J. Shaw, vice-president; Mrs F. Gardner, secretary; Mr L. Newdick, treasurer; executive committee, Mr and Mrs L. Newdick, Mrs G. San, ton, Mrs F. Gardner, Mr J. Shaw and Mr R. Ducker.
