Russia Danger To Empire?
"Today Russia is the greatest danger to the British Empire," said Commander D. Kinloch, development secretary of the Overseas League, on arrival at Wellington in the course of a tour of New Zealand and Australia. He said that while the league represented no creed, colour or caste and had no interest in politics, it was certainly alive when danger threatened the Empire. "I am out to fight Communism for all it is worth," said Commander Kinloch, who was in Russia both before and during the recent war. "It is true that the Communists have not such a grip in New Zealand, but they are a very real danger nevertheless." He said he was quite familiar with what he termed "the iniquities" -of the Russian system, and both he and the league stood for the British way of life.
