The Editor reserves the right to abridge, amend or withhold any letter or letters. PLEA FOR CHURCH UNITY Sir, —So the Church has an answer to give to a divided world that has “got it’s life twisted and wrong” etc., quoting Rev. Climo’s sermon published in Friday’s paper. All due respect to a fine preacher and truthful article, but I think the time has come for the “Christian Church” to do a little heart searching of its own. Indeed the world is divided, to the point of bloodshed; but can the Church truthfully say that she has . tried to bring it together? Can Catholic and Protestant face each other and call themselves friends, sincere friends? Can they lie in a common grave? Would they conduct services in the same Church? The world is stubborn in its sinning, but so also is the Church. It continues to push the most vital issue into the background, whilst it’s people suffer from apathy and frustration—and find, strange to say, their lives are all twisted and wrong. The Churches, both Catholic and Protestant, would do well to remember that united we stand divided we fall! And according to the Church we are falling fast. The writing is on the wall—for both of us. Yours etc., WHOSE GOD?
