Obituary

Mr S. H. Tippett

Mr Sydney Harold Tippett, a well known Whakatane resident died suddenly at the Whakatane District Hospital last Wednesday after a short illness. Born in Whangarei 65 years ago, Mr .Tippett moved ' to Opotiki in 1908, coming to Whakatane in 1919 and establishing a dental practice which he has operated successfully for 29 years. A very keen bowler and boating enthusiast, Mr Tippett has been associated with -the- Whakatane Bowling Club v ancfrttie Bowing Club for many years. He was president of the latter, club last-year. He was also a foundation member of the Whakatane Rotary Club. Mr Tippett is survived by his wife, two. daughters, two sons and seven grand children.
