Two offenders; prosecuted by the Conservator of Fish, were fined for breaches of the trout fishing laws. One, William John Doolan, was 'fined £2 10s on each of two charges, taking a trout under 14 inches long from the Waimana river, and failing to put it back alive. Costs were 10s in each case.

Ernest Mantell, caught fishing in the Waimana river with a license that was valid for all New Zealand except this area, was fined the minimum, £2, costs 10s.
