Keeping Flowers Fresh
A new method of keeping cut flowers alive has been discovered in South Africa. The secret lies in placing the blooms in a mixture of gelatine, sugar and certain mineral salts. It is stated that , some flowers preserved by the new process have lasted for twelve months; other blooms have not only remained fresh, but have developed roots and thus continued to grow.
