Hockey Clubs Prepare For Coming Season: Edgecumbe Grounds Work The annual general meeting of the Edgecumbe Hockey Club was held in the Edgecumbe Tearooms on Tuesday night. An attendance of 45 members showed that the club’s membership was going to be increased this season. The President, in giving his report, stated that last season the club had two women’s and three men’s teams, all teams having a full muster at every game. The Ranger men had won the senior competition for the season. The club had a trip to Hamilton where good experience was gained by all players^ Considerable work had been done on the grounds at the Edgecumbe Domain and the club now had two good grounds and the necessary gear to keep these in order for play. The club had equipped players with uniforms and sufficient gear to field five teams. Supporters of the club, namely the women in the refreshment tents, St. John officers, umpires, gate collectors and others were sincerely thanked and their willingness to help greatly appreciated. The balance sheet showed that the club was in a sound financial position. The following officers were elected:— - Patron, Mr G. W. Colebrook; president, Mr O. V. Marx; vice-pre-
