Position In Auckland Area Still Doubtful

Although it looks possible that the deteriorated position as regards the epidemic in the Auckland and South Auckland districts might cause the authorities to re-consider their decision to lift infantile paralysis restrictions there, it seems there is no immediate reason to doubt that schools in this district will re-open on March 1. Other restrictions were lifted as from Sunday throughout New Zealand. < .following the broadcast announcers ent that schools will resume on March I,' pupils of the local school are' asked, in a statement issued by tne headmaster, Mr I. B. Hubbard, yesterday to continue with any assignments of work that they already have or that they may receive in the next day or two. Any completed work, however, should rot now be posted, but brought along when school opens. The Form 111 assignments have still not been received from Wellington, but if they should come to hand shortly they will be posted out in order to give new pupils in the secondary department a start on their year’s work. A number of inquiries have been leceived regarding text books for third and fourth forms, but these too will now be better left until school opens.
