Rangitaiki Branch Of Federated Farmers Meet
A meeting of the Rangitaiki branch of Federated Farmers of New Zealand was held in the Presbyterian Church hall, Edgecumbe, on Monday. Mr J. Boulcourt, branch chairman, presided. The meeting stood for a minute in silence, as a mark of respect to the late Mr R. Wilson, a foundation member of the branch.
The meeting felt that the special stock trains recently inaugurated between Taneatua and Matata were not being properly used and it was resolved to try to have this rectified. It was pointed out that stock trucks were taken up to Taneatua on the morning they were required and that there was insufficient time to load the trucks before the stock i, trains pulled out again. If 'was finally decided to leave the matter in the hands of a member and the secretary, and one suggestion was that a meeting be arranged between the New Zealand. Railways, the stock firms and the Federation.
