Former Tauranga Cyclist For Olympic Games Trials

A former Tauranga cyclist, P. R. Coker, has been selected to represent Auckland in the New Zealand Olympic Games trials to be held at Auckland on February 11 and at Wanganui on February 14. He will compete in the 1,000 metres sprint event. Coker, who first gained prominence while a member of the Tauranga Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, recently returned from Australia where he competed in cycling events. He has joined the Manukau club.

He was runner-up in the New South Wales sprint championship.
