New College Buildings Young Farmers’ Clubs’ Memorial War Dead

Funds are now being raised throughout the Young Farmers’ Clubs organisation in New Zealand to erect a National memorial as a tribute to Y.F.C. members who lost their lives in World War 11. For the purpose of the scheme £20,000 is to be collected, over a period of two years, and the raising of that sum is within the capabilities of the YT.F.C. movement, having regard to its rapid expansion and increasing progress.

The proposed memorial wing at Massey College will take the form of dormitory accommodation, and will be fitted into the college huMding programme. Ample lecture and recreation facilities will be available at tlse college for Y.F.C. shortcourse students, the provision of •dormitory space making it possible for the college to arrange fllhe special short courses as desired. The proposed lecture hall and recreation room at Lincoln College will he used in conjunction with the existing short-course building, which will provide the accommodation for Y.F.C. students.

The memorial buildings will supply a long-felt want. Both colleges are willing to arrange the type of short, specialised courses that the Y.F.C. organisation requires, the demand for which is apparent throughout the movement.
