Six crews competed in the Whakatane Rowing Club’s trial fours for the Wairere Cup last week-end under first-rate Winners of the final were K. O’Rourke, E. Hunt, S. Shapley, T. Stewart (T. Reid cox) who beat L. Stewart, N. Goile, R. Morpeth, J. Taylor (T. Windley) by a length and a half. * Other results follow: First Heat: L. Stewart, N. Goile, R. Morpeth, J. Taylor (T. Reid cox) beat H.. Armstrong, A. Atkinson, P. Bowering, W. Sandham (T. Windley cox) by one length. Second Heat: G. Henry, G. Moore, W. Stuart, R. Ellis (Reid) beat P. Armstrong, M. Nicol, M. Whittaker, M. Brown (Delahunty) by half a length. Third Heat: K. O’Rourke, E. Hunt, S. Shapley, T. Stewart (Windley) beat H. Armstrong, B. Fitzgerald, J. • Turpin, J. Hudson (Delahunty) by one length. Semi-final: L. Stewart, N. Goile, R. Morpeth, J. Taylor, (Reid) beat G, Henry, G. Moore, W. Stuart, R. Ellis by half a length.
